[Chorus]
If I can't have mine
Then I guess I'll have yours
Just have a little taste
Of my anger in words
There's just no way
You could know it feels
To come so close
To something so unreal
[Verse 1]
Long ago it wasn't bad
I'd say it was the best
But little did I know that life
Would put me through the test
Trials hard and trials cruel
Oh how this life ain't fair
Wand'ring through the foreign waste
Adrift without a care
[Chorus]
If I can't have mine
Then I guess I'll have yours
Just have a little taste
Of my anger in words
There's just no way
You could know it feels
To come so close
To something so unreal
[Verse 2]
Pining for forbidden fruit
So close out of arm's reach
What other pain could this life have
To demonstrate and teach
I don't think I'll make it now
It's just too fucking hard
Just when I think I'm winning
Life plays the biggest card
[Chorus]
If I can't have mine
Then I guess I'll have yours
Just have a little taste
Of my anger in words
There's just no way
You could know it feels
To come so close
To something so unreal
[Verse 3]
The fairy tale was too fantastic
The passion it was worse
To climb up to the peak
Just to end up in the hearse
Memories of fighting through
The bitter biting snow
But little did I know that
The monster would eat me whole
If I can't have mine...
Then I'll have none at all
The anger's all dried up
It's no longer my call
I just wish you knew
How it felt to have lost
To give it your all
And pay the highest cost
If I can't have mine
Then I guess I'll have yours
Just have a little taste
Of my anger in words
There's just no way
You could know it feels
To come so close
To something so unreal

Darkness
All consuming Darkness,
Slithering through the world unseen,
Twisting till nothing is as it once has been,
Leaving the world lifeless.
Fun and love destroyed,
Happiness it seeks.
Persisting till one's annoyed
And one breaks.
The Darkness never leaves,
Like water one could believe,
Changes for it needs
But let's you bleed.
Accompanying one restless,
Keeping others at bay.
Stepping on one as one lay,
Ever consuming Darkness.

The Vampire and the Valentine
The sun was setting.
I tried not to look at it. Looking at it only reminded me that I shouldn’t still be here, shouldn’t still be sitting on this bench in the park waiting for someone who should have arrived hours ago.
What had I done wrong? The question kept bouncing around my head as I searched, over and over, for an answer I knew I’d never find. I’d never know why I spent this whole day alone—the one day a year, aside from Christmas, where you shouldn’t have to be alone—and that was the worst part of all.
Had I done something to upset her? Said the wrong thing? I racked my brain in search of an

The Choices You Lose (Part 3 of 3)
Miguel gets off the bus at your stop. So he knows at least as much as you know about him, a deadly symmetry. You could escape now and take that ride to Puebla or in any direction that gas and tires could outpace Mount Popo’s disapproval. You could, but you won’t. If he truly lives up to the reputation of a government killer, he’ll murder Dona Lupe just for spite. You could shoot him now or shout for somebody to stop him, but you won’t throw yourself into the hands of the law, not even for your landlady. And so, you follow him out into the street.
You catch up to him inside the colonial house. He fires first and

I've never considered myself much of a poet, but I occasionally get the inspiration to jot down a few inspired lines.

while redundant in the way it is set up (chorus, verse, chorus, verse) It is very well written. Bravo.
